This is a one-of-a-kind Ecuadorian balsa wood longboard, priced to go! Its exact dimensions are 9'6 x 13 13/16 x 21 9/16 x 16 7/8 x 2 15/16. It was shaped using a "dark" balsa wood that is extremely rare and precious. This is what creates the "spotted" look on the regular balsa. The phenomenal fin on this board is a combination of cedar, balsa, and tagua ( a strong and rare wood from the jungle of Ecuador). The tip is also outlined with this indegenous wood to provide additional stregnth. As you can see fromt he photos, the blanks on this board were created to provide a layered look on the rails by using slightly different colors of balsa. It was designed and shaped by Jimmy Zhanay of Playas, Ecuador. He has over 21 years of experience shaping and working with balsa wood. He also has worked with Gringo Andreas of Balsaflite. All boards shaped by J. Zhanay are created to be surfed. However, they also look stunning on the wall or when used as another form of adornment. These boards have been tested in the fabulous waves of Ecuador, similar to Rincon, CA. Finally, the best thing about these boards is that they are extremely light as the balsa is stringently selected and chambered and then baked in a special oven to maintain the lightness.
