Dear Fan,
When I was on the show taped in NYC and I lived in NJ. We came into the city a week or two before the taping. We sat around a large conference table. It was the real person, the other impostor and myself, our parents (we were kids) and some TTTT staff. We heard the real person's story and then had time to ask questions. In my case, because I was impersonating the base sweeper for the Baltimore Orioles during the 1969 World Series when they played against NY, I did have to learn a lot of facts and figures-batting averages, batting order, the player's names, everything about baseball.
The day we came back for the taping, the three of us hung out together. They taped the entire week in one day so we entertained ourselves walking around NYC. It was a blast.
