Hmmm...reinstalling Adobe usually does the trick. Are you accessing the Internet from school? Some schools have put a block on downloads for student safety. If that's not the case, what browser are you using? AOL? Netscape? Explorer? The problem may be with the browser, and a phone call to their tech support may clear it up.
