We must form a group that will put pressure on the Mauritian government to grant Rodrigues its overdue right for self-government. The political landscape has changed and the demographics has also altered. People of Rodrigues can no longer relate to the aspirations of the Mauritian people. we simply are not the same. There is such ethnic imbalance in Mauritius that Rodrigueses must look towards their own realities and protect themselves from a foreign cultural invasion. I am surprised that there are not many contributors to this important debate on the future and destiny of the people of Rodrigues.
