Posted by Alain Leveque on 15/6/2007, 2:10 pm For years and years, Eddy Abraham has selflessly given up his time, with no strings attached, to help many individuals and groups, from both the Mauritian and Australian communities. So, if I come across the tee-totalling Eddy, in his black beret, at the local pub, I may just shout him a lemon squash. And perhaps, even talk him into swapping his OAM for an order of Chavez… Bravo, keep up the good work. PS: Ezkiz mwan enn moment, Zoltan, mo ti lichien invisib, li oussi li envi dire kitchose. Cozer Zoltan, cozer… “It’s not the critic who counts, not the person who points out where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly, but may err and come up again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms and spends himself in a worthy cause … his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither defeat nor victory”. Mo kwar ki Zoltan finn deja alle ecoute Roosevelt fer discour. Ayo baba!

Orders of chivalry medals, from museum-bound anachronistic institutions, rarely hold my interest for more than a nanosecond. However, in this case, the recipient is not your usual run-of-the-mill fellow traveller touring on the same bus as the government of the day. This man has actually paid his dues.
