It’s hard to believe that only a minority, like you guys and those who lived or worked in the vicinity of the airport in the early 60’s, were aware of the air disaster. We read a lot more about the sinking of the Titanic or the St Geran after more than100 to 250+ years, but there is absolutely no references relating to the passenger plane that crashed heavily in our own backyard. Perhaps the colonial authorities of the 1960's were under immense pressure from Qantas not to release any detail that might have blemished their international safety standards and reputation.
