Boka is the Mauritian version of 5-card-stud, and played just as you described (1 hole card face-down and 4 face-up cards). Except Mauritians like to deal the last card face down, which players (yam) take a peek at before turning face-up. Last round (final) betting can only proceed when all last cards are revealed. Of course, this is only done in home games as casinos frown on the practice.
