I have just come back from a lovely month in mauritius and wish to say that it is still as beautiful as I remember. I was fortunate enough to bring my kids for the first time and they had a great time at the northern beaches.They loved the natural attractions so much that we are planning to visit again next year. People were very helpful and gracious towards us and I was proud to show my kids were their grandparents came from - however humble their beginnings. It saddens me to read some of the comments on this site towards us so called 'aliens' in Australia who are supposedly not welcome in Mauritius. I felt nothing but welcomed.
