Nancy Derougere and Mario Justin’s farewell performance, last Saturday at Gaelic Park, was electrifying. Easy-flowing segas, sung with power and heart, soon had most on their feet bopping to the catchy rhythm. And, when energized young dancers, rigged-out in vibrantly decorated costumes, strutted their stuff, it made for a breathtaking spectacle. Additionally, a spacious hall, candle-lit tables, complimentary bottles of wine, friendly faces, and marvellous hosts turned a good night into a great one; camaraderie gave it an extraordinary sense of community. To those who made it happen – take a bow.
