Tell u what, getting one's head around Guillaume’s uncommonly well written article took some doing, but gradually, with basic French and second-hand Larousse working overtime, its understated truths greet the reader like long lost friends. Good job, one would never guess that somebody with an hyphenated name could be so silky. The mechanism of vampirisation: “a chain of useful idiots … blinded by their own vanity, in turn, propagating disinformation anew” is particularly resonant. Touché!
Elvis and I were just discussing Le Bossu’s Sunday Times’ article; of course, for reasons of national security I can’t elaborate here, except to say that in the face of such evil, can we afford not to double the security force’s budget? Can we afford not to enact special powers for the Special Mobile Force? Moreover, isn’t it high time that the Industrial Military Complex came to Mauritius? Perhaps a dozen Apache helicopters to begin with.
Tuesday Times reports that all tourists to Mauritius will now have to wear bib-and-brace pocket-less overalls – sans culottes. Leather-gloved police doctors equipped with flashlights and laxatives will be on standby at Plaisance to conduct full-body cavity searches. U can’t be too careful these days. Remember the missing Roswell aliens, well, off the record, they are holed up deep in caves in Gris-Gris Souillac – apparently been there for years trying to crack the formula for Coca-Cola’s secret recipe.
Got to go, must check the number on my be-alert-not-alarmed fridge magnet to dob in a neighbour. Adios
