Ladybird,
I read about the Sandra O'Reilly case. I concur with you. She must be a very strong woman. She has to be.
But I would not hide or run away. You can run to the end of the world, but you cannot hide away the scar, the psychological one.
I think, Sandra did the right thing : Take them on. Until we all join forces to rid society of the systemic misogyny and sexism, gendered violence directed by men against women and children, will be here for a long time, with MTV or not!
With regard to Boys hearing yes when it should be , Don't think of it, I would leave gender out of it. Remember it takes two to tango.
Courtesy of CCTV on many UK High streets, we are now guaranteed on national TV's , a weekly dose, every Friday and saturday night, of gratuitous violence and cheap striptease , yes by young women, barely out of their teens, coming out of Pubs or nightclubs. The level of violence by young women against other women is just out of this world.
And guess what: This is no MTV inspired orgy. They called it BINGE DRINKING.
and IT IS ALL LEGAL.
