It has been brought to my knowledge that unscrupulous agents(cies) are fooling Mauritian students into inappropriate accommodation and other study arrangements when they arrive in Melbourne, Australia. In one particular case, the students were charged excessive fees for taxi fares from the airport, high rents to sleep on inflatable mattresses and stay in crowded accommodation.
For those who are proposing to come over to Melbourne to study, please ensure that any agents(cies) that you contract with are reliable and above board.
Please act with caution and ask other students, relatives and friends who are already in Melbourne to check things over. That does not however mean that all agents(cies) are unscrupulous. Just check their references.
