hi amanda,
its sad to hear that your son doesn't know his dad. what i can say is may be u can meet some mauritians with who he will be familiar and easy to catch some french and creole words. there are numerous mauritian parties around melbourne or Sydney where u can enjoy and make friends as well. hope u will get along with.
