Best advice I can offer, is to leave discriminations hearsay or facts aside, and check eligibilty of your son's Mauritian citizenship directly with the Mauritian Government, they have a good homepage or contact the Mauritius High Commission.
Discriminations and /or one's social status on society ladder AND Citizenship are TWO separate issues. The first one is an unlawful, bad political practice and very despicable , the second, that is , Citizenship is a RIGHT.
