Hi everyone!!!

Nice website :-) Hope someone can help me. I am moving to Melbourne with my husband and our 1 year old daughter in January 2010 as I am taking up studies at Victoria University (St Albans).

I was wondering:

1. whether anyone knows how I can get child care benefit in the form of reduced child care fees when i get there?... We expect hardship, with only $20hrs of work per week x 2 and the EXHORBITANT price of child care centres in Australia!!

2. whether anyone would have connections in the Laverton/St Albans/Footscray area for work for my husband and I.
Him: He is a certified IVTB plumber, has done a lot of general maintenance/handy man work before (house painting etc) and he is generally very good with anything manual. He also has experience in screen printing, store keeping, installation of solar water heaters and alarm systems as well as of satellite tv dishes.
Me: I have extensive call center and customer service experience. I also have teaching, child care and elderly care experience. I am a fast learner and adapt easily to new environments. Any 'well paid' job in any sector would be great!!! Note: As I'll be studying and also have a very young child, I'll need to be able to work part time, on a flexible schedule.
