Imagine what it would be like to be forcibly removed from your home country and never allowed to return. ................
The Chagossians were expelled by the British Government from their homeland, the Chagos Archipelago - 55 islands in the Indian Ocean- now called the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), between 1967-72, in order to make way for a military base on the island of Diego Garcia. They have just taken their case to the European Court of Human Rights.
If you are British, please join us in signing the petition to persuade the British Government to allow the Chagossians to return home. Do send this email to your friends to raise awareness about this issue and ask them to sign the petition if they are British.
