Welcome Steven. As an Air Mauritius frequent flyer and having been on the end of some deplorable service in Perth in recent years I can say it's not before time that a new GSA was found to service the Australian market. It is hoped the new GSA brings with it new management and staffing with a better service ethic. I can say it's not as good a holiday when you have to go into Air Mauritius at Port Louis to have your complaints heard. Having said that Steven, your challenge is made that much easier by the low standards of the predecessor GSA.
In response to shah noor's comments I also think prices are too high. When I last flew in May it was cheaper by almost $100 to fly from Perth to Sydney to Reunion to Mauritius and return with Air Austral than to fly direct from Perth to Mauritius. Of course it would have been a 10 hour longer flight each way so we flew Air Mauritius, but the over pricing is clear from such an example. I just hope Air Austral can find their way to stop over in Perth in the future because the current lack of competition on the route also seems to be a factor and I'd give them my custom.
Shah noor, I live over 3000kms closer to Mauritius than you, in the same country as you, and I can't get to Mauritius for the price you can. There's something wrong there somewhere don't you think ?
