It is well settled in law that if you cause injury to a person or an entity as defined in law, you will be liable to pay damages and other financial losses suffered by the injured party.
you mention that the british government by itself has provided some form of protection to those who will sign your petition. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the veracity of your claim since i have not seen any official announcement to that effect.
To come down to your level, if you sign a petition and that petition will delay or cause financial loss to a land/property developer, it is so clear that anyone even without even a legal background would or could understand this basic principle of law.
by posting this petition document, you have become and accepted that you are the REAL PETITIONER and any cause of action must be directed to you.
my message was simple and commonsense which any reasonable person would have have been able to comprehend.
in law, there is nothing which you call red herring. in law, we must be always act carefully. things that seem unambiguous or abundantly and overtly clear can be always be misinterpreted.
so, don't be too uptight as my message was simply to be construed as one of caution and commonsense.
we all support the chasgos cause. but, we must not help them in a way that is unselfish and is not motivated for some ulterior motives.
