Your son will be better off raised as an Australian and keep his Australian passport. His life will be a lot easier especially when he grows up and wants to travel around the world.
His father can share with him all the Mauritian values and cultures.
I don't believe Mauritius allows for Dual citizenship, I had to renounce mine and now live in Australia. It does not change the way I think or feel, Mauritius is still a big part of me.
