Alain Ramanisum is a household name in Mauritius. Born in Cassis – Mauritius, Alain Ramanisum has had great influences in his musical career. Today he is looked upon as a a pioneer of modern Sega. He is undoubtedly one of Mauritius’ most talented singer/songwriter of Sega – his work include classics such as 'Li Tourne', 'Bat Sega', 'Fiesta Ravana' and 'Prisonier Prisonier'. Some of you may know him from the most successful Mauritian band, 'Cassiya'. Many do not know that he was one of the founding members of the band. The group was well known for its unique style and lyrics. This has contributed a lot to his career and set a new trend of sega music in Mauritius.
Laura Beg is also one of the hottest new talents in the Mauritian cultural scene. After singing back up vocals with artists and bands such as Cassiya, Alain Ramanisum, Tian, Benjam and Ravana. She made a musical impact in the Indian Ocean with the Tina Arena cover of "Aimer Jusqu'a l'impossible". Other singles such as Oté Kafrin are still hits across the Indian Ocean.
