Posted by Melony on 7/2/2006, 9:20 pm, in reply to "surviving myxomatosis" Thank you so much for posting this. I have heard of the vaporiser with eucalyptus oil being used, it's very helpful for keeping the airways clear. We think Whisper had myxo when he first arrived here. I didn't have a vaporiser but used vicks around his hutch. I was also told that the virus doesn't do well in a warm environment, so he was kept in my laundry with a heater on constantly. He had daily shots of baytril (my first experience giving needles!) and we made sure he had a good diet and was never stressed, very important for their immune system to fight effectively. There has been some hope on using Equimune on rabbit suffering from myxo http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/myxo.html Also the myxomatosis helpline site, though you've probably already found this in your search for information http://www.rguppy.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm You're right, there really isn't a lot out there. I'll be keeping you and Rex in my thoughts and hope he continues to improve for you. Melony
