I've never actually noticed this but I have heard other people complain. What sort of food does he get? Maybe it's something in the pellets?
All my buns get a plain pellet that's high in fibre and no seeds or other mixers. For greens they get what ever I have in the garden, usually grass and herbs. They also have lots of oaten hay freely available all day. Avoid things like cabbage and corn and limit sweet treats such as lots of fruits.
Overall it sounds like he's pretty happy.
