I've never been involved in any sort of showing or breeding so my information is limited. I do know that they have quite strict standards usually but how the standards are upheld are up to the judges, so maybe this particular judge felt it detracted from the look?
Personally I think all rabbits are great, I love each of mine for their personality, what they look like really doesn't come into it.
