I live in Adelaide and at the moment, the weather has been forecast over 43°C and it is said that the temperature will stay that hot for at least another 3 days. This has raised a big concern for me. I own a lop eared rabbit who is about 3 years old in human years. I am worried about how much heat she will be able to handle. last year she lasted a week where the temperature was about 40°C but she is older now and I am worried about her. A friend has just had 2 of her rabbits die because of the heat and i would be devastated if something happened to her. she has free run of the garden and so she usually finds the coolest spot to lay down. I also give her a frozen water bottle to keep her cool.
If you have any usefull information about how much heat rabbits can stand or any tips on keeping her cool, please let me know.
