Posted by Melissa I have never really been into rabbits, but recently found myself with a very young wild hare. I rescued him from meat ants and proceeded to hand raise him. That was around September 2004. Against all odds he survived and is now growing strong and healthy, but he is lonely and I'm not sure what I can do about it. I'd like to get him a rabbit friend to play with, but I fear he'd be too exuberant and fiesty for an ordinary domestic rabbit. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there are any breeders of Belgian hares in Australia, or failing that, whether a breed can be recommended to me that would be spirited enough to deal with a young and rambunctious wild hare?
