I have had 4 like that, one of which was with me for 6 years, she never changed even after I had to nurse her through illnesses. These buns live with others that are quite affectionate, will eat from my hand, aren't aggressive at all and I can't think of any incident that may have made them react differently. I think it's just a personality thing. I do try to respect their wishes so don't handle them unless absolutely necessary, ie nail trims and health checks. Initially I did spend quite a bit of time sitting talking to them and offering treats, just to get them to the point where they understood I wasn't going to be grabbing them. Before I handle them I tell them I need to and that I will keep it as short as possible. It helps a lot to stay calm and confident (I keep a picture of a relaxed bunny firmly in my mind... sounds strange but it seems to work, for me anyway!) It is hard to deal with a standoffish bunny but remember it's not personal and it makes the few times they do actually respond so special. Melony
