While I am still angry at this development, I am resigned to the fact that racing will never return to the Northampton Fair. I spoke with the MA Racing Commission and they advised me that the fairboard did not even apply for the completely refundable license like they did last year. Our memories of this unique and very enjoyable race meet will have to do for us fellow track collectors. Perhaps we will find a new favorite racing fair in the western part of the US.
