Posted by Terry Bjork You can see most of a race from the apron at Santa Anita, but it will be very crowded, and you'd have to constantly fight to keep your spot. If you are going to do this I'd recommend the grandstand side as it is much larger. You can't see much of anything from the infield. Getting apron or infield admission I would best compare to your Silver Ring as far as amenities: few to none. On Breeder's Cup Day they will probably even be confining people in each area to their own "enclosure" like English tracks, though that isn't usually the case. Last year at Arlington there were a large number of tickets on sale outside the gate on race day, and that is a much smaller facility. I would expect there to be a lot of tickets available for Santa Anita in the week leading up to the BC. It always works that way, though it is hit or miss. One friend from England came over last year with cheap tickets and ended up with some of the best seats, after much scrambling. One way to secure tickets ahead of time is to watch some of the forums that get a lot more traffic than this one, and see who is offering what, or even ask if someone has extras. I would recommend the racing forum at: http://www.finalturn.com They swap and sell a lot of tickets each year and seem to be honest about it. We don't have bookmakers, legally anyhow. If you want fixed odds on your choice you'd need to make your wager before you come. Otherwise all wagering is on the same parimutuel basis as your Tote. Feel free to email me if you have any additional questions.

Those aren't really seats at that price. It says "admission only", where you'd walk in and then try to find a spot on the apron or in the infield, or else if you get there early enough maybe try to run upstairs and see if you can secure some of the limited free grandstand seating. The cheapest a real seat was offered for was $75 as I recall.
