Terry - I was there opening day with my uncle (and had $10 to win on NDHP's very first victor, Prairie Doctor...class always matters). Your review was perhaps a bit too kind - opening day was a logistical nightmare! I waited literally 20+ minutes in the mutuel lines more than once. They delayed the races to compensate for the lines, which really made for a slow going. The facilities were not great (how'd you like that temporary tote board?), but I'm hoping that gets fixed in the next few years. You MUST have been there some day other than opening. Still, like many things in Fargo, you have to throw them a few extra credit points for threadbare earnestness. BUT, given the recent scandals with the company that handles North Dakota's off-track charitable gambling (you might want to look at the Fargo Forum's website for details), I would not be surprised if the track was stained with THAT aspect of parimutuel wagering, making things that much harder for the track next year. Anyway, I'm looking forward to whatever more you might write about THAT tour. When you went to Canterbury, did you visit the card club? It's become my second home. Thanks again for your great website! Steve Stenslie
