thanks terry for the rewrite.I love looking at the past post as some of them bring back great memories.I started playing the ponies at La Mesa Park in Raton NM in the late sixties.Being underaged my grandpa made my bets. The long journey was born!When I was old enough to bet,early 70s, we lived in south scottsdale.I was 18 and made many trips to Turf. I even went to a handicaping class,taught by Chuck Bedone at SCC. Dont know if you know he past away last year.Anyway i love your stories as I too have been to all of the OTBs in Phoenix and even was the first to make a bet at McDuffys when it went on line.I saw in one of your old posts that they were trying to get horse racing in Trinidad,Co. Did they ever get it going,as they are trying the same thing now in Raton at the old La Mesa Park. One week of racing and year rounf simos.
