I don't agree that the good of the many outweighs the good of the few and accept that the life and well-being of ALL people regardless is important.
However, I also believe that many strikebreakers act out of pure selfishness, without regard to the consequences for others (and against their own interests in the long run). They do not all act out of desperation and they are certainly not heroes standing up for individual freedom against the wicked bully-boys of the unions, as some in the gutter-press might like to characterise them (in whose interest!)
