A report on last night's Cambridge Union debate on the question of who is most to blame for the lack of political progress in the Israel/Palestine conflict.
One titbit that might be of interest of MLers: Denis MacShane MP, one of the most prominent promoters of the 'new antisemitism' line of rhetorical attack, showed up to the debate quite obviously drunk, and proceeded to launch into a racist (verbal) attack on an Arab student who had the temerity to challenge one of his points. He accused the student of representing Hamas, and when asked for an apology, demanded that the student first apologise for the 'deaths of Jews'. He left midway through the debate, no doubt to throw up in the toilets.
