Anther point for reflection. When you think about, say, unemployment or the NHS, people get a lot of information first-hand through their own experience and the experience of friends and family. But when it comes to foreign policy, what we know is almost entirely gleaned from media of various kinds - what we consider 'our' understanding is very much a media construct. So the media is a part of the story to a far greater extent than some other issues. Another reason why it jars when leftist media analysts make no mention at all of the media in mainstream articles on foreign policy.
