That’s not a million miles from my own development, NS, though I don't remember thinking that particular writers were radical, rather that the factual reporting allowed me to get to the bottom of what was happening (or so I beieved). I would probably have missed subtle issues of framing though I like to think I would have spootted any elephants in the living room when I had the knowledge.
But thinking its kind of radical because we don’t know what radical means yet, was more a natural, progressive process of learning. That’s not really a myth of radicalism.
The 'radical' Guardian is an accusation that comes most often from those further out to the right. Again, a natural positioning process.
Surely something more definite has to be underneath that straw man’s fig leaf….
