Personally, I think that Chomsky's position, (1. 9/11 happened as stated, 2. Afghan war "one of the most immoral acts in modern history") does make him an extermist - inasmuch as I think it would be 'extreme' to think the US would/could/should have done anything different if it had been attacked in such circumstances.
To qualify this, I do happen to think that the Afghan war is indeed "one of the most immoral acts in modern history", but only because I reject the official 9/11 narrative (I'd also describe 9/11 as ""one of the most immoral acts in modern history").
Also worth mentioning that agree with Chomsky on pretty much every other issue, I just think that his position on 9/11/Afghanistan is both illogical and untenable.
