They were discussing this morning and talking about obama's failure to get the Israelis even to cease settlement building. This makes him look weak, they agreed, and asked why the US should involve itself in such a struggle (for its own self interest, said the American asked). Not once did they mention the fact that the Israelis military machine is completely dependent on the US, as is its economy.
