Well, that's crystal-clear then.

Frank Gardner in discussion with Huw Edwards in the BBC news studio: |
Edwards: ‘Frank, when we heard earlier about this evolving security threat. What do you mean when you, when we, use that word? What does the Prime Minister mean by “evolving”?’
Gardner: ‘Well, has it suddenly become more dangerous overnight to fly to America? No I don’t think it has. This is an ongoing, latent threat that has been around for years in Yemen as they developed this expertise. And as they developed their weapons, Britain and America and others are trying to develop their defences against it. And what’s changed, I think, is that in recent days, US and British officials - counterterrorism officials - have reached the conclusion that there is now this nexus – this meeting place – in Syria where you’ve got jihadists coming out from Europe and the Middle East, looking to fight in that part of the world, meeting with hard-core Al-Qaeda trainers who are not just focused on fighting in Syria and Iraq, but are focused on hitting the West; ideally for them with a big iconic attack on something like an airliner.’
So, in the wake of Iraq, we are to trust what the corporate media is telling us these anonymous British and American 'counterterrorism officials' have been saying. That, 'in recent days', they have supposedly 'reached a conclusion' that there is a 'nexus' in Syria where bad guys are meeting.
