Everyone always wonders what happens when your loved one slips somewhere between here and there. Can they hear you? I can now say with absolute certainty YES THEY CAN!!! My dear friend Stephaine left this world on November 16th after a three year battle with breast cancer. She was only 34. During her last week, her husband and I were talking by her bedside until about 3 in the morning. She was totally unresponsive at this stage. Nothing could wake her. We talked among other things about their favorite restaurant, which is Japonica in NYC. And throughout the night he wished for her to wake just one more time so they could tell each other they loved each other, and she would be totally aware. In a final act of desparation, he gathered the items from an area in the bedroon they called "the shrine". There was a blanket with the image of Padre Pio on it. Some religious medals. Pink pixie dust. Holy water. A bracelet. Everything was placed on her. He sprinkled the pixie dust and holy water. And sleeping beauty awoke to a kiss from her prince. And she wanted to know when we were going to Japonica. She was totally aware and responsive for one amazing hour. And I got to ask her THE question. Can you hear us when you are out like that? She said that she was soooo tired that you don't even know. You can't open your eyes, move or anything. But she said she could hear everything we said and could feel the people around her. They can hear you!!! They really can!!!!
