I would call Social Security on this one. They can be very helpful and from what I have seen wouldn't interfere with your insurance company. If you don't get someone who isn't willing to help, call again till you find someone who will help. Your insurance company also has that answer. I doubt your asking a question will adversly affect your insurance.
