I lost my best friend to breast cancer in November. She was the one that told me she could hear in the post down below. And after she lapsed back into what seemed to be unconsciousness, I could tell that she could hear me. I had missed the signs before. Things went downhill very quickly in the end in her case. She was bedridden for three weeks. But she was alert on and off for 2 of those weeks. And then she was gone. She wanted to make a video for her husband, and from just one day to the next it became impossible. I shot a job with her just a month before. She was a wedding photographer and I am a videographer. She was diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago at age 31, and had a recurrence before the first year was up. When they did the mastectomy one month after her diagnosis, she had 32 positive lymph nodes. If you would like to know her story and what it was like for her, I would be more than happy to talk with you. I spent the last three weeks with her sleeping at the hospital and then sleeping at her house. I was so fortunate to have had that time with her. The day after she died, her husband was looking for a sign that she was happy and ok. For whatever reason, he went into his bedroom and turned on the TV to Comedy Central. The show featured a comedian's act that was taped a few years back in Vegas. A show they had attended. And there she was happy and smiling next to him when they panned the audience. What are the odds???
