Posted by Thomas on 9/26/2007, 10:23 pm Her o2 was going down and her heart rate was going up - This evening, the surgeons and doctors tell us she has a pulmonary embolism. This worries us a little bit - they took her off of the coumadin, of course; but she had a DVT in her arm about 7 months ago, maybe more... when the put the port in for the chemo treatments. So I hope a PE is something treatable and I hope they can give her thinners tonight. I'm a nervous wreck, but I'm not showing it to her. She's still smiling, though. Says she has no pain in her lungs, no shortness of breath, etc. The only sign is the o2 sat and the heart rate oscillating from 70ish to 120ish. I also am on day 2 of antibiotics for strep throat. I was worried I would give it to her or kill her or something by being there, but the doctors all said not to worry - don't kiss her on the lips, but don't worry otherwise. Wash hands a lot, etc... so but yeah I still worry a lot.

Erin's surgery went well; her doctor's said she did great and everything even ended an hour early. Yesterday she slept a lot, and she did that today as well. Though she was able to get more food down today, too.
