I was sorry to read of Erin's complication with the pulmonary embolism-the low oxygen saturation levels, sweating, low-grade fever, and increases heart rate are all manifestions of PE. Anticoagulant therapy will be used to treat it. Erin will be having a lot of lab work done to monitor her PT and INR to make sure they are in a therapeutic range. Once that is achieved, she will be changed from blood thinner injections to blood thinner pills. She sounds like she is in good hands. Glad you are there beside her. Please keep us posted on her progress and be sure you stay on top of your strept throat antibiotic treatment. A couple of warm salt water gargles during the day will give you added comfort in the back of your throat. Be well. Hugs and prayers, Di
