I too have been watching people with cancer most of my life, and all I can say is that the suffering is usually much less now than 20 years ago. Cancer pisses me right off - vibrant people who should have years left being taken too early, or, if they survive, being altered in ways that makes them different from the rest of the world and makes them, and their caregivers, very much outsiders. It's a dreadful disease. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

Seems like, for some, cancer is a theme of their lives. I'm sorry to hear about your parents, but at least you do know some of what to expect. Big whup for the upside huh?
