It's good you are there for her, but Diane is right - she is still in the very best place for the best care, and it sounds like they are trying hard to find the right solution, the right balance. Just keep on being her advocate. It's a really tough job Thomas, I know that personally. I think that you could propose a visit from the priest to her from the view of 'would it give you any comfort to have a visit from him' place, and if she says yes, ask HIM to ask her that question. It would be between the two of them anyhow. I'm not familiar with the rites myself, so I don't know what it exactly means, what you suggest, but I gather it's not quite extreme unction, so might not be too frightening. And since you are a man of faith yourself, you might just get a blessing from him for your own strength.
