You have come to the right place. This board was my lifeline during some very difficult times - I found it comforting just to come here and write when I needed to sort things out, or to vent. There are many people here who have been where you and your wife are. I know all about wishing you could trade places. As men, we naturally want to protect the women in our lives, and in this case we can't - all we can do is watch, and that's hard. You feel helpless, and we aren't very good at feeling helpless. One of the hardest parts is dealing with your own feelings and fears, because you don't have anyone to express them to - while on the outside you're constantly reassuring her that everything will be ok, on the inside you have terrible fears and feelings that you can't express to her. That's why this place is so important, because you can express them here. We understand. We've been there. The other boards here are also a wonderful resource - any question you may have about treatment, side-effects, symptoms, etc, chances are someone here has been through it before and can answer it for you. Encourage your wife to come here and make use of that resource too. She will find many women who are going through, or have been through, the same things.
There is a light at the end of this tunnel. We'll leave it on for you.
