Dave,
Don't give up hope !! My wife was diagnosed with brain mets in 1999, was treated and is doing great. It is no longer a death sentence as it was years ago, They are some great noninvasive treatments available. One of the members ou our group was dx'ed with three CNS mets and was treated solely with Tykerb and Xeloda. Her tumors disappeared within 6 months. That was over a year ago and her brain MRI's are still clear.
You may consider contacting either Dr. Eric Winer or Dr. Nancy Lin at Dana Farber in Boston. They are the leading experts in metastatic brain tumors. Mention the HER2 Support Group.
Shoot me an email at: hdruther@att.net with your phone number and I'll have my wife call either you or your wife. Believe me she's the expert.
Warmest Regards
Joe
