deanna, i'm very sorry to hear about your mom having a rough time.
your faith will lead on the rest. when it was time, my faith allowed me to say goodbye for now to my parent's physical bodies, but not to their spiritual souls. that's what my faith allows me to believe, everyone is different. there is no way to get ready.
keep hopeful each day and if the time comes, turn it into prayers for her peace. god will help you through it.
it may , or may not be what you want to hear, but that's what i learned.
