Deanna, I don't think I can add too much to what has already been said, but I wanted to write and send my love and prayers. (I am caring for my sister. (breast cancer stage 4)) Like the other folks said, I don't think you can ever be ready. I really like that notion that you'll never have to say goodbye to the 'soul', I think they stay with us. In addition, I've learned to trust my sister, that her life is going as she would want it right now. I believe your mother will do what she wants to do, how hard she wants to fight right now. She is your partner in this, and when she can't advocate for herself in the medical setting, you can.
