Pneumonia was brought on by the enormous quantities of fluids that were part of the treatment for a high fever. The respirator was necessary because she had reached a point where she was too exhausted to breath for herself. Her blood platelet level had reached a low of 2000 (low-normal is 100) and she was trying to bleed out through her pores. Adenosine had to be administered 5 times for an extremely fast heartbeat (180 to 225 beats per minute).
It has been a long 2 weeks.
