Look again at the Tree of life...
where does it stand in Revelations 22?
In the middle of the street...What? Who would put a tree in the middle of the street...this must be a really important tree...a lot of history. In LaGrange Texas...they have trees in the middle of the street. These oaks are historic and huge...you could almost drive a small car through some of them they are so wide. The city preserves these trees because of the history. They deem these trees important.
Where else does this tree stand? On either side of a river...now ask your self seriously...how can one tree stand on either side of a river? How can one object stand on both sides of a river? Now look again it didn't say the tree stood on Both sides of the river...it said it stands on either side of the river
In the midst of what is a street? In the midst of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Mystery.
This throne is a Kingdom it has a street, it has a river...it has the tree of life. One tree...on either side of the River was not A tree of life, but THE TREE OF LIFE.
Chapter 22
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
So again...how can one tree stand on either side of a river? Well we know it stands in the middle of the road...what road? The road of the Throne. Now which side of the road does it Stand on?
The tree is in the middle of the road...it stands on either side of the road. So where is this river?
Running down the middle of the road? No, if the road were separated by a river...it would be not one road...but two roads...the river must be crossing the road.
Now look again...what is it that was shown...we see the throne of God...but what is it that was a mystery...the throne of God? No...nobody is disputing that..we all acknowledge...yeah ok the throne of God...so what does this angel in Revelation 22 show John?
In the midst of what is a street? In the midst of the city, the holy city of Jerusalem which descends out of heaven From God...the city shewn to John by the angel in Revelations 21:10 throne of God and of the Lamb. Mystery.
Read Revelations 21: verses 1-10 and answer this question...Where is John when the Angel takes him up and shows him this city as it is descending out of heaven?
He was already in the the New Jerusalem.
He had seen it Coming down from God out of Heaven.
And in verse 10 of chapter 21, this angel shews John something...he shews him the city again...not coming down...but DESCENDING...this angel shews John the other side of the picture...he puts something into perspective for John.
Now you gotta imagine...here John is standing on the new earth...an he is blown away...he see's this city come down from heaven...a city!!! Not a neighborhood...not a town...A WHOLE CITY...THIS THING IS HUGE!!! Look at all the attention last month that Stephenville Texas got...they saw this thing and it was half a mile wide and a mile long...now granted that's pretty big by our standard...but I can walk a mile in 6 or 7 minutes at a brisk pace...John He sees a WHOLE CITY come from God out of Heaven!!!!
He had to be mesmerized...he must have frozen in his tracks...and he is trying to see what's going on...he wants to understand this mystery...and what does he behold...He sees God dwelling amongst men! And Somebody is sitting on a throne...who sits on the Throne...?
And then somebody speaks to John...it is he who sits on the Throne...it is the Alpha and the Omega and he makes two procalmations in John's presence Read verse 7 and verse 8.
And an angel comes..but this angel is no ordinary angel...he has something with him...he has the seven vials of the seven last plagues. And he says to John "Come here I want to shew you the bride...I want to shew you the Lamb's wife."
And is John fearful and unbelieving? No he is one who overcometh.
And this Angel starts imparting something to John, an inheritance...he starts to show John who is who...he shows John the Bride, The Lambs Wife.
And so John goes with the angel and what it the first thing he sees... he sees a city...not just any city...he sees the new Jerusalem descending from God in verse 10...but didn't John already see this in verse two? No he didn't go back read it carefully...John saw it "COMING" down from God out of heaven...and now this angel takes John and says Come with me I want to shew you something...and he shews John the City as it is Descending From God out of Heaven...he takes John to the past, cause he wants John to see something...he wants to show John the Bride, the Wife of the Lamb. And John goes with him and what does he see? He sees a city! And he describes this city as a beautiful woman having the Glory of God...and John sees a great wall, and he sees these twelve gates on this wall, and he sees twelve angels on these gates and each one has a name written upon them, twelve names in all, one for each tribe of the Children of Israel...And this thing is beautiful...and John goes into great detail to describe it he writes down what he sees...He says "Wow it's got twelve foundations...and they are beatuiful"...and he describes each one, and he says "and these foundations each have a name written in them...each foundation is distinctly different and each one has a name of one of the twelve apostles of the Lamb."
And the whole time this Angel is talking with John...and while he talks to John he is doing something...he is working...this angel has a job...he has to measure the city...and the gates and the wall...and it may just be that his job was to do this in Johns presence. Because he makes it a point to tell John..."hey John rembember this...this is the measure of a man...and this wall is a hundred and forty four of these" and this measure is explained to John in both the terms of a man, and an angel.
And the angel John saw something...this city...it didn't have a temple...read verse 22...this city didn't need a temple because The Lord God almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it.
And this city existed in a place where it needed neither Sun nor moon to shine in it.
To them that have an ear to hear...let them hear.
This throne is a Kingdom it has a street, it has a river...it has the tree of life.
He shows him a river of life...and how does he show it to him...sure we see it running forth from the throne of God...the throne of Revelations 21 and sitting upon that throne is the Alpha and the Omega... but this river how is it shown to John?
What is this river?
It is the river of the water of life, and it was shewed to John...Clear as crystal.
So what is this river of the Water of Life...shown to John by an angel who takes him through time, back into the past?
It is the mystery of God. The Generations of the Heavens and the earth. This angel has a reed in his hand...Mystery.
This angel takes John and shews him the past, to put things into perspective. John has witnessed something...after a proclamition from the Alpha and the Omega sitting upon the throne that someone, was going to inherit all things.
